Welcome

Welcome to Red Caramel Photography's blog. We’re based in Danbury, Connecticut, but we go where we're needed. Kind of like superheroes, minus the capes and masks.

It's all about
love.
What we shoot, that is. Engagements, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, special events, and children and family portraits.

This blog shows what we're up to - photo shoots, fantastic clients, business development ideas, even random musings on life.

Looking for something? We have an excellent search bar below the Blog Archive. Want to say hello? Care to find out more? We'd love to hear from you! Feel free to

The Ostunis: A Family Portrait

The day started off rainy. Raining to the point that we wondered if the photo shoot was actually going to happen. Yet like all things that are meant to be, the rain stopped, making the photo shoot possible. Thank goodness it did! Otherwise, we would've missed the wonderful opportunity to work with this family.

Turns out Grandma Jen had long wanted family photos. Grandma Jen was Gina's grandmother. Yes, Gina - the very same Gina whom I blogged about here - set the ball rolling, which eventually led to her aunt Angela booking the session.

When Gina said there will be 23 persons, we were overwhelmed initially. I confessed to her that the biggest (non-wedding) group we've photographed for a portrait session had 11 family members. This was definitely a challenge, but we were more than willing to go for it. The fact that they didn't back down after I told her that was a definite vote of confidence.

These are the results from that day's photo session.

This last shot was taken amid some grumbling from the young ones, but specifically requested by Grandma. What Grandma wants, Grandma gets.

Many thanks goes out to:
  • Grandma Jen, we hope the photographs taken that day captured all that you hoped for…and more. And yes, we absolutely love that when you e-mail us, you sign your e-mails with "Grandma".
  • Angela, for coordinating everything down to the outfits! Amazing work!
  • the entire clan. What a beautiful and fun family! and of course...
  • Gina, for asking us about our availability for this session in the first place. :)
